Bellamy Galvanised Steel Trough Standing Planter with Legs (2 Sizes Available)
This Galvanised Steel Trough Planter is a must-have for gardeners and vegetable growers, with the raised height allowing you to work and plant at an extremely comfortable position. The large body of the planter allows you to plant larger vegetables such as potatoes and carrots, without the possibility of them not having enough room to grow. It is also a great choice for growing plants which spread easily as they are contained solely within the body of the planter, albeit with ample soil and space to grow.
You can choose between two sizes, both of which have the same height and depth, the body just differs in width between the two. They are both assembled in exactly the same way.
The trough planter is fully made from Galvanised Steel which is not only durable and hard-wearing for constant use, but will remain rust-free for peace of mind when growing vegetables. We have load tested the larger version to over 80kg making it perfectly durable for plenty of soil and water, with folds on the legs designed to subtly improve the strength of the planter.
The side of the planter features the Bellamy logo in our dark green colour which has been riveted onto the body of the planter. You can also choose our Grey option which comes in a powder-coated finish for extra durability.
The Trough Planter will arrive partially assembled when you order it. The main body of the planter is fully assembled as it is riveted together for a strong and durable construction. The legs however will need attaching to the main body of the planter, and for this we have provided 16 nuts and bolts for you to secure each leg around the body of the planter, in the carefully-placed bolt-holes.
The planter has a variety of benefits being higher up due to the legs, and due to the size of the main body:
- Easily plant larger vegetables which typically grow deep in the soil due to the 355mm deep body.
- Easily plant at a comfortable position for longer, with less need to bend or crouch over, and no need at all to be in a kneeling position.
- The height allows for great harm-free slug and pest prevention as slugs will avoid the galvanised steel and climbing into the planter, but may use it to rest underneath.
- Being off the ground makes this planter a great choice for housing easily-spreading herbs and plants such as Mint, which grows best in a container due to its out-of-control nature.
